Latoyaa Roberts-Thomas

Latoyaa Roberts-Thomas is the Social Media Specialist at the Global South Policy Hub.

She is an international development specialist with more than 15 years of experience supporting civil society organizations, grassroots movements, and regional development initiatives across the Caribbean and the Global South. Her work focuses on strengthening community-centered programs, advancing gender equity, and improving organizational capacity through strategic communication, behavior change methodologies, and rights-based approaches. Latoyaa has contributed to multicountry projects with international organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank, UNESCO Caribbean, Plan International, and CIVICUS.

With a multidisciplinary academic background including master's degrees in communications, international relations, human rights, and business administration, she integrates policy insight with practical field experience. She is known for her ability to translate complex development concepts into accessible narratives that elevate policy dialogue, community voices, and donor engagement.

Latoyaa holds a B.A. in Communication Studies with Linguistics and International Relations from the University of the West Indies; an M.Sc. in International Relations from the Institute of International Relations, University of the West Indies; a master's in Political Analysis and Public Policy with a focus on Human Rights and Democratic Governance from the Higher School of Economics, Moscow, Russia; and an Executive MBA and Executive MBA in Project Management from Formato Educativo, Madrid, Spain.
